ABOUT US

Our parish is more than just a place where people come to worship the living God (although it is also that!). Saint Nicholas is a vibrant faith community of people of all ages and backgrounds throughout Youngstown and surrounding communities, who are living their faith together and raising their families in accordance with the commandments of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the canons of the ancient Holy Eastern Orthodox Church.

Many of our congregants journeyed to the Orthodox Church from other Christian faith traditions and denominations and some non-Christian religious and spiritual traditions. So whether you are “on a journey” or just wanting to visit a local Orthodox parish you will be welcome at Saint Nicholas.

OUR VISION

Expand on the Orthodox Christian foundation set by our forefathers and prepare for the next 100 years by continuing to build Faith, Family and Community, in Christ.

OUR MISSION

Education   Application   Participation   Dissemination

To educate ourselves in the teachings of Christ and the Traditions of the Orthodox Church, to practice what we learn and uphold those Traditions, to participate in the Sacraments, and to share those teachings, Traditions and Sacramental grace, with those outside our parish.

FIRST TIME VISITORS

Yes! You are welcome here. We are always honored to have visitors join us for prayer and worship. We come from all racial, age, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. Every sincere lover or seeker of Christ, or non-Christian inquirer is welcome.
